Coker, Sr., died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Jackson W. McElveen, Jr. and the late Adele Sports McElveen. She was affiliated with the Sumter Full Gospel Church. Survivors besides her husband include a daughter, Tara Beaver of Sumter; a son, Freddie Truesdale, Jr. of Sumter; a sister, Shirley M. Mitchum of Sumter; and a brother, Donald A. McElveen of Sumter. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jackson W. McElveen, III. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with Rev. Tyrone Mitchum, Rev. Kenneth Truesdale, and Rev. Jamie McElveen officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Mitchum, Paul Mitchum, W.J. Coker, Wayne Greene, Buddy Page, and Donnie McElveen. Larry W. Coker, Jr. will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
