He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and, since 2002, had worked as a private contractor for the United States Department of Defense in Iraq. A memorial service was held October 1, 2010, at Symmes Chapel (Pretty Place) at YMCA Camp Greenville, SC. Following the service, his ashes were scattered into the mountains he loved so dearly. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth W. Bedenbaugh Jr.; his sister, Frances Austin Bedenbaugh; his wife, Andrea Bennett Bedenbaugh; his daughter, Emily Symmes Bedenbaugh; and many wonderful friends.
