| HIST | BENJAMIN H. JACKSON III MANNING -- Benjamin Harrison Jackson III, 44, died Friday night, Dec. 17, 2010, at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia. He was born on June 28, 1966, in Sumter, to Mrs. Virginia (Ralph) Graham and the late Harris Jackson (Crystle). Ben was a talented artist who made beautiful dental work for some famous people. He also enjoyed designing nice jewelry out of old items. Ben never met a stranger. He loved to fish and hunt with dogs, especially Belle, his favorite. He loved living at the lake near his father, who died one month ago, on Nov. 17 at the same hospital. Ben was thankful to Shelly and Bob Theodore for sending Laurin here when he was so sick last year. Ben was a member of St. Johns Methodist Church in Sumter. Surviving, in addition to his mother and stepfather, Ralph Graham of Alcolu, are his son, Brendon Harrison Jackson (and friend Holly) of Manning; his daughter, Laurin Jackson of San Antonio; his sister, Valerie Clarice Charles of Alcolu; and brother, John Edward Jackson (Lisa) of Sumter; nieces, Ashleigh Hope Hood and Dakota Jackson; his stepmother, Crystle Jackson, of Manning; stepsister, Robin Allen (Kenneth) of Manning; and stepbrother, Robert Shelly (Alisa) of San Antonio; several other nieces and nephews; and a special uncle, Lerans Welch. He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Lowder; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Jackson Sr.; paternal stepgrandfather, John Marvin Hughes; and a baby brother. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, with Pastor Kenny Griffin and the Rev. John Patrick officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of his mother, Mrs. Virginia Graham, 9551 Sumter Hwy., Alcolu, S.C. 29001 (US 521 South going towards Manning from Sumter).
