Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Clifton Wooden Webb and Gladys Haynie Webb. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Anderson and Anderson College. In her early life, she worked as a medical secretary at Anderson Hospital. She taught elementary school in Sumter School District 2 and Salem School. Mrs. Fincher was an active member of Concord Presbyterian Church for 56 years, where she served as an elder and held multiple offices in the Women of the Church. She also served on the Women's Council of Harmony Presbytery. She was awarded the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership. She was also a member of the Brewington Community and Family Leaders and the American Legion Auxillary. Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Evans (DeLeon) of Sumter, Lynn Crenshaw (David) of Pendleton and Celeste Blackmon (Lee) of Sumter; six grandchildren, Janice Warren (Lee), Dee Evans (Michelle), Kevin Evans (Shannon), Jennifer Crenshaw, Ben Crenshaw and Hal Blackmon (Laura); nine great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Neil Webb of Charleston. She was preceded in death by a brother, John C. "Jake" Webb; and a niece, Jane Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James Braswell officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Presbyterian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home. Memorials may be made to Concord Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 3350 E. Brewington Road, Sumter, SC 29153.
