How is he the cousin of Melissa? jkh Melissa Ann McLeod Melissa Ann McLeod, 32, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of Betty Jean Sherman and the late Jack Bartlett. She was a member of Wise Drive Church of the Nazarene and was a devoted mother. Survivors include her mother; a son, Christopher Steven "Toot Toot" McLeod of the home; her fiancé, Brian Woudwyk of Sumter; three brothers, Jack Bartlett Jr., Brad Holliday (Nicole) and Michael Bartlett, all of Sumter; a sister, Lorie A. Roddenberry (Kevin) of Folkston, Ga.; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Holliday of Sumter; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Marshall L. Holliday; paternal grandparents, Robert Lee Bartlett Sr. and Doley Louise Bartlett; and a cousin, Kevin Holliday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wise Drive Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Parnell, T.J. Parnell, Ryan Ross, Kevin Oliver, Donald Holliday Jr. and Jason Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Welch and Joseph Morris. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at 967 Meadowbrook Drive. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. FROM STAFF REPORTS A driver was killed after a wreck in Sumter County about 7:50 a.m. Tuesday. Sumter County coroner Harvin Bullock said Melissa McLeod, 32, was driving a 1998 Mitsubishi SUV when she lost control of the vehicle in the 3200 block of Starks Ferry Road. McLeod was a substitute carrier for The Item. According to state Highway Patrol, McLeod drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected and ran the vehicle into a tree. The car overturned.
