Mr. Griffin was a deacon at Lakeside Outreach Ministries in Summerton. He was retired from Griffin Brothers Construction. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; five children, Joey Griffin (Dana), the Rev. Kenny Griffin (Bonita), Kay Griffin (Jim Fender), Dede Parker (Jamie) and Jamie Griffin (Samatha), all of Sumter; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Ray Griffin (Shirley) of Leesville; and five sisters, Pearl Markum (Benton) of California, Mildred Osteen of Sumter, Barbara Garcia (Fred) of Ohio, Linda Masi of Sumter and Cathy Morris (Robert) of Sumter. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, Jimmy and Benny Griffin; and three sisters, Onie Griffin Fields, Faye Griffin and Debbie Griffin McCoy. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Green Acres Assembly of God with the Rev. Donnie Collins, the Rev. Jack Barkley and the Rev. Kenny Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Outreach Ministries Church cemetery. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lakeside Outreach Ministries, 4315 Nelson Ferry Road, Summerton.
