Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Dickie Lee and Helen Hatfield Donald. After a courageous battle with breast cancer, Mary has received her eternal healing. Survivors include four children, Jeffrey Shirley (Ashley), Jeremy Shirley (Wendy), Melissa Cannon (Josh) and Jonathan Shirley (Danielle), all of Sumter; seven grandchildren, Lyndsay, Jeffrey Jr., Joshua, Cameron, Jamie, Emily and Jacob; two brothers, Vic Donald (Ginger) and Matthew Donald; a sister, Donna Gray of Texas; and a special sister, Susan Oldhouser. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Hawkins, Jesse Rodriguez, Matthew Donald, Jeffrey Shirley, Jeremy Shirley and Josh Cannon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at 3140 Richland Road. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Koman for the Cure Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
