| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina CATHY GRIFFIN MORRIS Posted Thursday, November 14, 2024 3:08 pm Cathy Griffin Morris, 73, wife of Robert Morris Sr., died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Henry Griffin and Edith McLeod Griffin. Mrs. Morris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a retired fire tower operator with the S.C. Forestry Commission. Surviving are her husband of Sumter; two sons, Robert Morris Jr. (Lori) of Anderson and Vinson Morris (Heather) of Augusta, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Haleigh Morris, Griffin Morris, Hunter Morris and Taylor Cass; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Cass and Cameron Cass; a brother, Ray Griffin; and three sisters, Mildred Osteen, Barbara Garcia and Lynda Masi. She was preceded in death by nine siblings. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, in Poole Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Morris and the Rev. Kenny Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
