| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina JOE CARROLL DRIGGERS Posted Thursday, February 24, 2022 6:00 am Joe Carroll Driggers, 69, widower of Brenda Russell Driggers, died on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, at the home of his son. Born on June 18, 1952, in Manning, he was a son of the late John Horace Driggers and Jessie Bell Blackmon Driggers. He was a member of Little Star Pentecostal Holiness Church, and he was the owner and operator of several finance companies. He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Stephens (Tray) of Sumter; a son, Joe C. Driggers Jr. (fiancйe, Christina Morgan) of Manning; two grandchildren, Colton Stephens and Jacob Stephens; two brothers, John Lyrue Driggers and Paul Stephen Driggers, both of Manning; two sisters, Cornelia "Connie" Brandon (Carlysle) and Rhunette Mercer, both of Manning; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Ledell Driggers and Morrell Driggers; and two sisters, Baby Wyona Driggers and Marilyn Yvonne Holladay. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Drew Choate officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Stephens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory, 304 N.
