| HIST | BRIAN K. SHORTER Brian Kelly Shorter, 39, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, in Savannah, Ga. Mr. Shorter was born May 8, 1968, in Sumter, a son of Henry B. "H.B." Shorter Jr. and Florence "Judy" Garrington Shorter. He was a truck driver for Plumbline Trucking. He loved automobiles and motorcycles and was an avid Gamecocks fan. He loved home and family. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his parents of Sumter are one brother, Ronald Booth Shorter and his wife, Tammy, of Manning; and a nephew, Joshua Booth Shorter. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Garrington and Mr. and Mrs. Booth Shorter, and a close friend, Jimmy Hughes. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Keith Burgess officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Kolb, Andy Hodge, Kevin Hodge, Bill Dennis, Duvon Herrington and Jim Russell. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
