Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Zeb and Pearl Davis Somersett. Mr. Somersett was a member of Graham Baptist Church, the Charleston Gamecock Club, Mission to Men Choir, the Men of Concord, and Sumter Christian Charities. He was retired from CSX Seaboard Coastline. Survivors include a brother, Myron Somersett (LuRose) of Alcolu; three sisters, Margaret Chapman of Sumter, Betty Siau (William) of Alcolu and Karen Brown (David) of Alcolu; three nephews, Christopher Carrere, R.J. Somersett and Wesley Brown; four nieces, Maria Hiatt, Dawn Molina, Christie Burlison and Kristy Johnston; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Brunson Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men’s Sunday School Class of Graham Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, 2915 Tobias Road.
