Newton SENATOBIA, Miss. — Dorothy Shelton Newton, 86, of Senatobia, formerly of Oxford, Miss., and Sumter, passed away at her home on Monday, July 30, 2012. Mrs. Newton was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and attended Senatobia Church of Christ. She loved flowers and was a member of the Garden Club in Sumter. Mrs. Newton is survived by her husband of 67 years, Roscoe Dewey Newton Jr. of Senatobia; two daughters, Hazel Ferguson (Neil) of Surfside Beach and Mary Beth Black (Larry) of Senatobia; two sons, John Newton (Linda) of High Point, N.C., and Charles Newton (Cindy) of Eustis, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Margaret White of Sumter; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Senatobia. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. preceding the funeral services at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home.
