| HIST | Date Published: November 13, 2008 KATHERINE ARDIS Katherine Ann Scurry Ardis, 47, wife of William James “Bill” Ardis, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at her home. Born in Fort Sill, Okla., she was a daughter of Susie Mae Cockerill Scurry and the late Leonard A. Scurry. She attended Wise Drive Church of the Nazarene. Survivors besides her husband and mother of Sumter include two daughters, Jennifer Marie Ardis and Caitlin Ann Ardis of Sumter; four sisters, Mary Sue Hyatt (Laverne), Gloria J. Curlee and Patricia K. Turner (Donnie), all of Sumter, and Brenda E. Watkins (Robert) of Bishopville; four brothers, Junior Scurry (Connie), Stevie Scurry (Lisa), Woody Scurry (Monica) and Ricky Scurry (Tracie), all of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Katherine Ardis Medical Fund c/o Safe Federal Credit Union. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
