| HIST | Gene Autry Hodge MANNING — Gene Autry Hodge, 76, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at his home in Manning. Born Nov. 4, 1936, in Manning, he was a son of the late Genie and Eva Lawrence Hodge. He was owner and operator of Gene’s Used Cars; a United States Army veteran; and he was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a son, Andrew Hodge and his wife, Kathy Lowery Hodge, of Manning; two brothers, Willie Hodge and his wife, Cheryl Floyd Hodge, of New Zion and James “Toddie” Hodge of Manning; a sister, Shirley Hodge Evans of Manning; a grandson, Adam Hodge of Columbia; and a niece and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Drew Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Kip Hodge, Brantley Hodge, Chase Hodge, Ryan DuBose, James “Bubba” Lea and Wayne Pelfrey. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, 1021 Pebble Lane, Manning. Memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 5079 Alex Harvin Highway, Manning, SC 29102 or to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1794 Old Georgetown Road, Manning, SC 29102.
