BARNEY E. OSBORNE Sr.
Barney E. Osborne Sr., 70, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at the home of his daughter.
Born Jan. 27, 1939, he was a son of the late Herbert and Eva Osborne. He retired from Verizon in 1995 after 38 years of service.
Survivors include his children, Barney Osborne Jr. (Vera), Sheila Bradshaw (Eddie) and Kim Griffin (Allen), all of Sumter; seven grandchildren, Noel, Josh, Charlotte, Anna and Joseph Osborne, and Laura and Tabitha Bradshaw; a sister, Faye Osborne of Manning; two brothers, Clyde Osborne of Manning and Keith Osborne of Georgia; and a special great-great-niece, Tanner Simmons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Flynn Osborne.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the New Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bennie Barwick officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Kim, 3095 LaCosta Court.
