Born August 18, 1998, in Manning, he was a son of Jamie Floyd and Nica Knowlton Floyd. He attended Bible Outreach Ministries and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved Gamecock and Viking football. He is survived by his father, Jamie Floyd (Kelly) of Lake City; his mother, Nica Knowlton Floyd of New Zion; two brothers, Mason Floyd and Brayden Vail; two sisters, Peyton Floyd and Morgan Brown; paternal grandparents, Tommy and Janice Floyd of Lake City; and maternal grandmother, Sandy Hagen of Valdosta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Linda Knowlton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Great Commission Ministries with the Rev. Derrick Fort officiating. Burial will follow in New Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Dukes, Jonathan Poston, Tripp Beard, Michael Miller, Kacey Floyd, Dalton Parker, Kyle Sims and Justin Knowlton. Jackson Floyd died at the scene around 11:45 p.m., according to Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock. “Mr. Floyd’s death was a result of head trauma," Mock said. According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones, Floyd was the only occupant in a southbound 2004 Ford pickup truck when it went off the roadway and struck a fence before hitting a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt, Jones reported.
