Margaret Stone Harvin Doty
Margie Doty WINNSBORO - A graveside memorial service for Margaret Stone Harvin Doty, age 85, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013, in St. Johns Episcopal Cemetery, conducted by the Reverend Jim Newburger. A reception will be held after the service in the church rectory at 301 West Liberty Street. Mrs. Doty passed peacefully on the afternoon of May 5, 2013 at Rice Estate in Columbia. Twice widowed, she was the wife of the late Frank Madison Harvin and the late William Royston Doty. She was born in Chester, SC, August 13, 1927, the daughter of the late Albert Earl and Beatrice Boney Stone, Sr. She worked as a secretary and was a devoted homemaker. She was a member of Sion Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Doty is survived by a son, David Michael Harvin and special friend, Brandi Hammond of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Leonie Harvin Gill and her husband, Frank, of Oxford, NC, Andrea Harvin Kennington and her husband, Chuck, of Mt. Airy, NC; a brother, Dr. N. Clarence Stone and his wife, Mary, of Silver Springs, MD; five grandchildren, Colin William Byrd and his wife, Elizabeth, Dr. Alexander McRae Harvin and his wife, Molly, Emily Middleton Byrd, Nathan Tyler Harvin, Alexis Druelle Harvin; three great-grandchildren, and five nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Doty was predeceased by a brother, Albert E. Stone, Jr., and a grandson, Devin Michael Harvin. Pope Funeral Home is serving the Doty family.
