McLeod, 88, widower of Janie Sue Stone McLeod, died on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, North Carolina. Born on Oct. 28, 1934, in Pinewood, he was a son of the late William Donald McLeod and the late Daisy Geddings McLeod. Mr. McLeod was a dedicated member and past bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Through the years, he worked as a farmer, an auto body repairman and retired from Bosch Braking as an equipment operator. Mr. McLeod enjoyed working on cars, watching sports on television and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include three children, Suzi Ardis (Marion) of Willis, Texas, Jay McLeod of Taylorsville, Utah, and Pam Barnette (Andy) of Gastonia, North Carolina; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Treasure of Rigby, Idaho; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Lath Harris. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services at the home of Chuck and Charlotte Parker, 2 Dabbs St. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive No. 301, Cayce. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [2, 7]
