Born July 27, 1962, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Wilson L. Amerson Sr. and Jenelle L. Baker Amerson. He was a graduate of Manning Christian Academy and served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Amerson loved the outdoors. In addition to farming, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Varney (Greg) and Emily Dority (William); five grandchildren; two brothers, Wilson L. "Kirk" Amerson Jr. (Becky) and Roy Amerson (Phyllis); two sisters, Sherry Amerson-Jackson (Thomas) and Pam Amerson-DuBose (Glenn); and nine nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Jim Johnson and the Rev. Johnny R. Amerson. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, 715 S.C. 261 S., Wedgefield.
