- Henry James Linam : On January 2, 1861 Henry signed a note for some money that he borrowed from his Grandmother Mary J. Linam. H. Herbert Wells III has a letter which was written by Henry on April 4, 1861, to his cousin William R. Wells. The letter was written from Morris Island South Carolina where Henry was serving in a South Carolina Infantry Unit. According to Herbert Wells "Henry enlisted at Camp Green as a private in Co.1, 23rd Infantry (Regiment). He was killed 17 September 1862, in the battle of Sharpsburg Md." The administration bond for the estate is dated December 22, 1862. Witnesses were C. W. Linam, R. M. Ridgill and John H. Mahoney. The administrator of the estate was C . W. Linam. Notes John Tindal
