Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Chappelle Heath and Mary Elizabeth Holliday Manning. A graduate of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, he was an outdoorsman and loved horses and hunting dogs. He worked as a hunting guide and in wildlife game management. Surviving are his siblings, Jean Elliott Manning of Montreal, Canada, Mary Locke Manning Oliphant (Murray) of Columbia, Dibble R. Manning (Carla) of Mt. Pleasant, John L. Manning (Anne) of Leavenworth, Wash., Charles T. H. Manning of Columbia. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, C. Heath Manning Jr. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
