"Kenny" Purvis, died on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at a local nursing facility. Born on Oct. 2, 1949, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Charlie B. Hall Sr. and the late Helen Truett Hall. Mrs. Purvis attended Northside Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Joseph N. Bruce Jr. of Sumter and David Bruce (Monica) of Manning; three grandchildren, Matthew Bruce, Jesse Bruce and Savannah Bruce; one great-grandchild, Jaxson Wyatt Bruce; three brothers, Robert Hall (Faye), Charlie Hall (Dorothy) and James Hall, all of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Community Church with the Rev. Don Riner and the Rev. Robert Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Community Church. Memorials may be made to Community Church, 3600 Pinewood Road, Sumter, SC 29154.
