| HIST | SALLIE NUNNERY Posted Wednesday, May 18, 2016 6:00 am Sallie Mitchell Stokes Nunnery, 84, died on Monday, May 16, 2016, at her home. Born in Newton Grove, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late George Henry and Iula Isabelle Bass Mitchell. Surviving are one son, David Robert Stokes; one daughter, Nancy Mellissia Morris of Sumter; one sister, Mary Ann Ball; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Carnell, Odell, Roy, Kenneth and Joseph; and three sisters, Estell, Roseshell and Rose Marie. Graveside services will be held at noon on Thursday at Wells Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Tschorn and the Rev. Bobby Driggers officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.sumterfunerals.com.
