| HIST | of Landrum, South Carolina BILLIE H. MURPHEY Posted Friday, July 8, 2016 6:00 am LANDRUM - Billie Hurt Murphey, 58, of Landrum, passed away on July 6, 2016. She was a daughter of Woodson W. Hurt of Sumter and the late Shirley Stephens Hurt and the wife of Dell Murphey. She was the secretary and receptionist at Landrum High School and was a member of Landrum First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Dell Murphey; her father, Woodson W. Hurt; two daughters, Linsey Murphey Cooke (Jason) of Spartanburg and Lacey Murphey of Landrum; three sisters, Kathy Robinson (Robbie), Darlene Buchko (John) and Kim Hurt, all of Sumter; and a grandson, Blaise Cooke. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Landrum First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mark Bishop and the Rev. Danny Burleson. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Landrum for Student Leadership University, 300 E. Rutherford St., Landrum, SC 29356.
