The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Carolyn Earnhardt Somheil and the late Ralph Arnold Somheil of Sumter, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Mack Cubbage Sr. He graduated from Wilson Hall and The Citadel with a degree in civil and environmental engineering. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Malcolm McLeod Rhodes of Charleston, and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Wylan Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Parker, and Mr. and Mrs. George Flanders Cummings. She graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor of arts in sociology with social services emphasis. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Lee Somheil Sr., and the grandson of Mrs. Caroline Earnhardt Somheil, the late Mr. Ralph Arnold Somheil, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Mack Cubbage Sr., all of Sumter. He graduated from The Citadel with a degree in environmental and civil engineering. He is employed by Carlson Environmental Consultants in Monroe, North Carolina. The Rev. Brian Kenneth McGreevy officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by The Charleston Virtuosi, St. David Choir of St. Philip's Church, and Mr. Capers Cross, organist and choir master. Escorted by her father, the bride wore an alencon cathedral-length veil and a Monique Lhuillier ballgown of alencon lace accented with buttons extending down the train and a handmade three-quarter sleeve overlay.
