Walker, died on Friday, May 19, 2023, at her home. Born in Madisonville, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Marcus and Mary Elizabeth Saffles Tallent. Mrs. Walker was a member of Wedgefield Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, James "Jimmy" Walker of Wedgefield and Steven Walker (Jane) of Sumter; a brother, Tom Tallent of Augusta, Georgia; a sister, Lucy Bailey of Anderson; six grandchildren, Stephanie Craven, Steven Walker Jr. and Shane Ray Walker, all of Sumter, Wesley Walker of Lexington, Lucas Walker of Saluda and Sarah Grace Walker of Cayce; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Wedgefield Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Goff officiating. Burial will be in Wedgefield Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Walker, Lucas Walker, Steven Walker Jr., Shane Ray Walker, Walker Craven, Al Diddy and Sarah Grace Walker. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Wedgefield Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their dedicated, compassionate and loving care.
