  HIST	BOBBY JOE MARTIN Posted Wednesday, January 12, 2022 6:00 am Bobby Joe Martin, 80, husband of Patricia Pierson Martin, died on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington. Born on June 26, 1941, in Conway, he was a son of the late S.J. and D.C. Johnson Martin. Mr. Martin was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church. He retired from Gold Kist (Campbell's Soup Co.) after 32 years of service. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether cutting his grass, fishing or just sitting watching the sun set. Survivors in addition to his wife include three children, Bobby G. "Gerry" Martin and Sonia Allen (David), both of Sumter, and Robert Nichols (Becky) of Lexington; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Martin (Shirley) of Thomasville, North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Charles Owens officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside and other times at the home. Memorials may be sent to Crosswell Baptist Church, 604 Mathis St., Sumter, SC 29150. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [9]
