Born in Hartsville, he was a son of the late James Richard Kirven Sr. and Margaret Ann Gainey Kirven. Mr. Kirven served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Pilgrims Pride with 32 years of service. He loved to fish and play golf. He also enjoyed drinking coffee at the Sportsman every morning with his friends. Surviving are his daughters, Jamie Sereg of Lynchburg and Meghan Kirven of Florence; four grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Chavis of Sumter. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
