The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Lake City United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Brockington Funeral Home, will be in Moore Cemetery. Mr. Moore was born in Georgetown, a son of Clarence V. Moore and Ollie Brown Nettles Moore. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and Clemson University. He was a former member of Wachovia board of directors in Lake City. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Rotary Club. He was a member and trustee of Pergamos United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Agylee Floyd Moore. Surviving are five daughters, Susan M. Dickinson of Columbia, Sally M. Mouzon of Kingstree, Sheila M. Cribb of Lake View, Dr. Sharon M. Askins and Stacy M. Moore, both of Lake City; a son, Vernon O. Moore Jr. of Simpsonville: two sisters, Thelma M. Wllson of Lake City and Jacqueline M. Whereas, the Honorable Vernon Oneil Moore of Florence County died on February 28, 1998, at the age of seventy; and Whereas, he was born in Georgetown and was the son of the late Clarence Vernon Moore and Ollie Brown Nettles Moore, and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Argylee Floyd Moore; and Whereas, Judge Moore was a 1944 graduate of Lake City High School and a 1951 graduate of Clemson University; and Whereas, he was a former Williamsburg County Magistrate, retired from Wachovia Bank in 1981 as Executive Vice President and was a former member of the Board of Directors of Wachovia, Lake City; and Whereas, Judge Moore was a member of Pergamos United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee; and Whereas, he was a former member of the Lake City Lions Club and the Lake City Rotary Club; and Whereas, Judge Moore is survived by six children, Susan M. Dickinson, Shelia M. Cribb, Stacy M. Moore, the Honorable Sally Moore Mouzon, Williamsburg County Auditor, Dr. Sharon Moore Askins, wife of the Honorable Harry Askins, our esteemed colleague, and Vernon Moore, Jr., two sisters, sixteen grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter; and Whereas, he was widely admired and esteemed for this devotion to his community, state and family. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring: That the members of the General Assembly express their profound sorrow at the death of Judge Vernon Oneil Moore and extend deepest sympathy to his family.
