Born on Dec. 5, 1925, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Susano Calderon and Luz Maria Carballo Calderon. She was a retired civil servant, having been employed at the Shaw Air Force Base Civil Engineering Squadron, followed by a lengthy employment at the base chapel. Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Sandra E. Gogan (Ray) of Indialantic, Florida; a son, Jack W. Erter Jr. (Mary Anne) of Sumter; daughter-in-law and faithful caregiver, Atchura Erter of Sumter; grandson, Michael Erter (Sarah) of Portland, Oregon; grandson, Bart D. Loeb of South Bend, Indiana; granddaughter, Dr. Carolina E. Burns (Geoff) of Newton, Massachusetts; and grandson, Dr. Jack W. Erter III (Noelle) of Nashville, Tennessee; along with seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a son, Ronald Ray Erter; and by her six siblings, Raul, Lucy, Emma, Julio, Jorje and Maria Louisa.
