| HIST | GLORIA ANN KENNEDY MULLIS Posted Wednesday, June 26, 2024 6:00 am Gloria Ann Kennedy Mullis, 83, wife of Thomas Warren Mullis Sr., died Monday, June 24, 2024, at her home. Born Nov. 21, 1940, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Wade McSwain Kennedy and Thelma Ann Ingram Kennedy. She was a member of Sumter First Baptist Church. She loved dancing, especially the shag, gardening and interior decorating and design. A registered nurse, she served as the plant nurse at Exide Battery and later co-founded Carolina Assessment Services. Survivors include her husband of 54 years; and a daughter, Lori Rowe (James) of Rembert. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kennedy. A private burial was held in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st St., Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. [1] | |
