| HIST | HAROLD JOSEPH STOWE Posted Friday, January 17, 2025 11:08 am Harold Joseph Stowe, 95, widower of Lucille Anne Pepper Stowe, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, at his home. Born in Malone, New York, he was a son of the late William Stowe and Ethel LaPlante Stowe. Mr. Stowe was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran and was a retired parts manager at Jones Chevrolet. Surviving are three sons, Gary Stowe (LaOr) of Navarre, Florida, Daryl Stowe (Vicki) of Fletcher, Oklahoma, Michael Stowe (Karen) of Sumter; three daughters, Shirley Collett, Rosemary Perillo (Tony) and Renee Thurmond (Russell), all of Sumter; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David Stowe, of Sumter; two brothers; and one sister in New York and a sister in Missouri. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 657 W. Oakland Ave., Sumter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 198 E. Wesmark Blvd., Suite 2, Sumter, SC 29150.
