- In 1880, when he was 25, George and his younger brother Daney were living at the home of Crissy Biggs on the Williamston-Bear Grass road (now #1001). Crissy's husband, Henry W. Biggs, having died in 1867, it may be assumed that the two young Taylor men had been engaged to assist her in running the Biggs farm. Crissy died 2 JAN 1884 and the Biggs farm became the property of George Washington Taylor, presumably willed to him by Crissy.
After 20 days of sickness George died on 8 JUL 1889, at the age of 34, and he was eulogized by his older brother, Eli Taylor.
The Biggs farm passed on to his widow and her second husband Thomas Hadley. In the old Biggs burial ground, behind the residence and the tobacco barns are the graves of George Washington Taylor and his two infant daughters. His grave is marked by a stone monument and the graves are enclosed by an iron fence.
