Elizabeth died before the 1870 census. She and her husband, James may be buried in the old Taylor Cemetery on the Lloyd Corey Road in Pitt County, North Carolina, near Oak Grove Church. Taylors of Robersonville own the farm, the cemetery in back field, and house up a lane. No markers there for them.
Last name possibly Crisp. Possibly the daughter of Samuel Crisp, Sr. of Martin County, North Carolina.
Elizabeth asked for a widow's dower in 1851 from son Theophilus Taylor. James Taylor died about 1851. In the Trial appearance Docket Book of Martin County, North Carolina, which is in the North Carolina archives in Raleigh, North Carolina, it states that on JAN term 1852, Elizabeth Taylor petitioned for a years provision, administrator, Theophilus Taylor. In OCT term 1852, Theophilus Taylor, administrator and the heirs at law of James Taylor petitioned for sale of land, and granted. JAN term 1853, a report was made and confirmed.
