Bade October 9, 1948 – October 5, 2023 Daniel C. Bade, 74 years, of Fremont, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, at Nye Pointe in Fremont. Daniel was born on Oct. 9, 1948, to Carl and Rebecca (Lahmann) Bade in Fremont. He grew up on a farm in Saunders County, Nebraska. He graduated from Fremont High School, class of 1966. Following high school, he worked on the family farm. Daniel served in the United States Navy from May 8, 1967, to March 1, 1971, on the USS John F. Kennedy. Following his time in the service, Daniel married Cynthia Hapke on March 20, 1971, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Fremont. Daniel worked for Valmont Industries and retired after 41 years. In his spare time, he loved collecting sporting stats and sports cards. He knew many sporting facts and had a large collection of Sporting News copies. Daniel was an avid Husker fan over the years, attending several games as a volleyball season ticket holder. He was preceded by his parents; wife, Cynthia; sister, Kathleen Lanza; brothers, Samuel Bade and Phillip (Sue) Bade; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Jones, Linda Greunke, and Willa Bade; and brother-in-law, Ron Hapke. He is survived by son, Steven Bade; brothers, David and Robert (Julie) Bade; sisters-in-law, Barb Bade and Lynn Hapke; and brothers-in-law, Vernon Greunke and Lee Jones. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Fremont. Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
