| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina at death- she had 6 great-grandchildren Mamie K. Johnston Mamie Kolb Johnston, 90, widow of Thomas A. Johnston Sr., died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late George Percival Kolb Sr. and Beulah Louise Jones Kolb. Mrs. Johnston was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include two sons, Thomas A. “Tommy” Johnston Jr. (Linda) of Sumter and Terry L. Johnston (Barbara) of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Tracy J. Schillinger (Marty) of Simpsonville, Thomas A. “Bubba” Johnston III (Kim) of Sumter, Trenton “Trent” Johnston (Casey) of Mebane, N.C., and Travis Johnston (fiancé, April) of Knightdale, N.C.; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George P. Kolb Jr. and William C. Kolb; and one sister, Gay Kolb Windham. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Paul Goff officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home of her son, 601 Cardinal St. Memorials may be made to Tuomey Hospice, c/o The Tuomey Foundation, 115. N. Sumter St., Suite 120, Sumter, SC 29150, or Wedgefield Baptist Church Building Fund, 6220 Wedgefield Road, Wedgefield, SC 29168.
