Name | Alexander Baron/Barrow BRAILSFORD [1, 2, 3] | |
Born | 1813 | |
Gender | Male | |
HIST | When Alexander was a West Point Cadet and on leave in Charleston, (South Carolina), he met Anna Eliza, who was attending Madame Telvan’s School in Charleston, (South Carolina). So completely, hopeless, did they fall in love that the dashing young Cadet resigned from the Academy and the very young, captivating Miss DuBose walked out of the celebrated school for young ladies, and forthwith they were married in 1832. It so happened that Miss DuBose possessed large tracts of lands in Clarendon County, (South Carolina), and the martial spirit of the young groom soon adapted itself to the life of a country gentleman.
