| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina JULIAN ELMORE COUSAR Julian Elmore Cousar, 75, widower of Susan Hampton Geddings Cousar died Saturday, Feb.27, 2010 at Tuomey Hospital in Sumter. Born May 31, 1934, in Sardinia, he was the son of the late John Landon and Annie Mabel Ridgill Cousar. He attended The Citadel in Charleston, was a United States Air Force veteran, and a retired civil service business manager at the Federal Correctional Institute. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Cousar Smith of Sumter, and Julie Cousar McGuire and her husband Dale of Anderson; a sister, Carolyn Hoff and her husband Buddy of Manning; six grandchildren, Brandon and Lauren Smith, Joshua, Molly, Emzi, and Ally McGuire; two great grandchildren, Landon and Dillon Smith; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kennedy; and five brothers, John L., Allison, Allen, Richard and Bobby Cousar. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium, 515 Miller Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Rodney Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
