Stubs Turner Stubs Arthur “Bubba” Turner, 74, husband of 45 years to the late Hazeltine B. “Hazel” Turner, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at his home. Born in Pinewood, he was a son of the late Clifton and Effie Brewer Turner. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and retired as a lead man from B.L. Montague Co. after 28 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include a son, Ronnie A. Turner (Andria) of Gable; a daughter, Missy R. Ardis (John) of Sumter; two granddaughters, Kayla M. Turner and Alyssa Ardis; and two sisters, Ruth Mathis (Bo) and Lois Yarborough (Van), both of Sumter. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Hazel Turner, Saul Turner, Isadore Turner, Rufus Turner and Michael Turner; and a sister, Geneva Lloyd. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve Hendricks, the Rev. Al Sims and the Rev. Dale Turner officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
