Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Archiebald Marcellus LeGrand and Mary Ella Allen LeGrand. Mr. LeGrand was a member of St. John’s Church and was a retired analytical chemist at Savannah River Plant and Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Rosser Kennedy LeGrand (Ann B.) and George Kenneth LeGrand (Susan C.); a daughter, Emily LeGrand Loy (David); a stepson, Joel Stokes (Becky); six grandchildren, Jessica Wingard (Gerald), Amanda Rogers (Matt), Kathryn Hill (Steve), Sam LeGrand, Ella Loy and Autumn Loy; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbi LeGrand Chappelle and a brother, David LeGrand. Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Sumter Opera House Renovation Project, 21 N.
