  HIST	of Columbia, South Carolina of Rosman, North Carolina JOAN MARSHALL DINKINS Posted Tuesday, January 26, 2021 6:00 am Joan Marshall Dinkins, 86, of Rosman, North Carolina, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021. Joan was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and was a daughter of the late John and Vivian Marshall of Charlotte, North Carolina. Joan attended Columbia Bible College in Columbia. Joan is survived by her sister, Barbara; her brother, John; and her loving husband of 65 years, William Dinkins Jr. She also leaves behind her sons, Bill and Ken; her grandchildren, Dee, Dani, Katie, Natalie, Taylor and Cody; and great-grandchildren, Mckensie and Mannix. Joan was a member of First Baptist Church in Brevard, North Carolina, and served as a Sunday school teacher and active volunteer. She loved to express her creative talents through ceramics and greeting-card stamping, and realized her great passion for hospitality by hosting the young people from the Brevard Music Center in her home. Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at First Baptist Church in Brevard with visitation immediately afterwards. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the family gravesite, 6920 Dinkins Mill Road, Rembert, SC 29128. Visitation will follow the service. The family asks those in attendance to wear masks and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 1338, Brevard, NC 28712.
