DINKINS Mary Jane Rembert Dinkins, 82, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late William Richardson Rembert and the late Juanita Hoyt Rembert. Mrs. Dinkins was a member of First Southern Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She sang for weddings and played the piano for nursing homes. Surviving are a twin sister, Florence Nell Wright of Columbia; two daughters, Sarah Janelle Stephens of Murrells Inlet and Sherrie Jean Parker and husband, Michael, of Florence; a son, William Richardson Dinkins of Dalzell; 14 grandchildren, Mary Ingrid Robertson, Angela Lucia Stephens, Denny Wayne Parker, Michele Terri Poyner, David Michael Parker, Chad Daniel Dinkins, Adam James Dinkins, Lori Amber Rose, Clint Homer Rose, Dylan Anderson Ward, Jessica Danielle Ward, Daniel Robert Dinkins, Ashley Nicole Dinkins and Kaci Leigh Dinkins; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Hoyt Dinkins; a son, Daniel Eugene Dinkins; a sister, Juanita Rembert Sanders; and three brothers, James Freeman Rembert, William Richardson Rembert and Harry Hoyt Rembert. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. David Dinkins officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher McCluskey, 9 Chappell Court.
