Wingate SAVANNAH, Ga. — Donald Gean Wingate, 61, of Savannah, passed away unexpectedly at home, Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012. Don was born May 5, 1951, in Sumter, to Willie and Lillian Wingate. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife, Robin; daughter, Christine (Greg) Arrington of Texas; son, Donald (Nancy) Wingate of Alaska; son, Shawn (Christa) Wingate of Colorado; daughter Nicole (Aaron) Croft of Savannah; grandsons, Carson, Jeron, Keller and Jett; brother, Bill (Lynne) Wingate of South Carolina; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved companions, Beau and Beckett, "the boyz." Don retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1990 after 20 years of service. Don began a second career in information technology and most recently worked for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System.
