Born Jan. 2, 1951, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late James Clifton Riles and Ruth Windham Riles. She worked in the food service industry with Aramark Five Star for 27 years and was a Wal-Mart associate for the past 12 years. She loved singing and was known around area venues as Brenda Marie. She enjoyed Bingo. She is survived by her partner and friend, Marcia Floyd of Laurinburg, North Carolina; three siblings, Debbie Seegers of Sumter, Norman "Larry" Riles of Sumter and Kathryn Brown (Lee) of Manning; her fur baby, Toby-Toe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Patricia Hodge, John E. "Pete" Riles, James C. "Jay" Riles Jr. and Barbara Turner. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Donna Green officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Turner, Chris Riles, Brandon Grimsley, Rob Shirley, Kyle Plemons and Lee Brown. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
