  HIST	CLEO PEAGLER Posted Thursday, October 24, 2019 6:00 am Cleo Alfred Peagler, 91, widower of Leah Dorothy "Sug" Benenhaley Peagler, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, at his home in Sumter. Born Feb. 13, 1928, in St. Stephen, he was a son of the late Harmon R. Peagler and Hallie Lorena McMakin Peagler. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Springbank Baptist Church and retired from civil service at Shaw Air Force Base. Survivors include three children, Glenn Peagler of Sumter, Barbara Belote of Cochran, Georgia, and David Peagler (Tanya) of Sumter; a son-in-law, Greg Thompson (Amy); six grandchildren, Whitney Bryant (Dustin), Kyle Thompson (April), Shannon Rader (Russ), Jennifer Peagler, Jared Thompson and Madison Beasley; five great-grandchildren, Leah Bryant, Walker Bryant, Anniston Thompson, Reid Thompson and Remington Rader; and a nephew, Harmon Kales (Carolyn). He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Marie Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Springbank Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Peagler. Memorials may be made to Springbank Baptist Church, PO Box 159, Dalzell, SC 29040. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [10]
