| HIST | of Rock Hill, South Carolina Sarah O. Ray Sarah O. Ray, 89, widow of Clarence Ray, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at a local nursing center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Benenhaley Oxendine. Mrs. Ray was retired from Campbell Soup Co. Surviving are one brother, Stedman Oxendine; close friends, Marilyn Qualls and husband, Don; loving friends and caretakers, Nelson and Virginia Bunton; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Almeta Oxendine and Margaret Johnson. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Smoaks Baptist Church Cemetery, Smoaks, with the Rev. Victor Cheek and the Rev. Eddie Bunton officiating. Memorials may be made to Shaw Heights Baptist Church AWANA Program, 2030 Peach Orchard Road, Sumter, SC 29154.
