Born on Sept. 14, 1946, in Copperhill, Tennessee, he was a son of the late William L. Weese and the late Horace and Billie Rae Harrison Collins. Mr. Collins attended Friendship Baptist Church. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors. Survivors in addition to his wife of 54 years include two children, Robert C. Collins Jr. (Michelle) of Burien, Washington, and Tammy Richardson (Jim) of Sumter; two grandchildren, Jamie Richardson and Finn Collins; and two brothers, Alan Collins (Carol) and Michael Collins (Nancy), both of Sumter. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James C. Collins and Douglas W. Collins. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. John McLeod. Burial will follow at Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [2]
