Frye, died on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born on Sept. 10, 1942, in Florence County, he was a son of the late Herbert and Lottie Floyd Frye. He was an active member of Christian Tabernacle PH Church. He retired from Sumter Machinery. Survivors include his wife of 51 years; three children, Daniel F. Frye Jr. (Melissa), Wendy C. Holladay (Paul) and Eric Frye (Amber), all of Sumter; six grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Trent, Janna (John), Darrianne and Anna Caroline; a great-grandchild, Bailey; and a brother, Sambo Frye of Sumter. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jeff Frye, Jink Frye and Ted Frye; and two sisters, Annette Frierson and Lorene Powell. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tony B. Porter and the Rev. Jimmy M. Porter. Burial will be at Christian Tabernacle PH Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ted Frye, Perry Frye, John Brunson, Brian Bennett, Donnie Poston and James Frye. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Parker. The family will receive friends at the home. Memorials may be made to Christian Tabernacle PH Church, 1018 U.S. 15 South, Sumter, SC 29154.
