Geddings and Mary Avins Geddings. Mr. Geddings attended Sumter First Church of the Nazarene and was a longtime member of the Oswego Hunt Club and was retired from the Sumter Fire Department. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved watching NASCAR racing with his family and friends. Surviving are his mother of Sumter; his father of Sumter; two sons, Jonathan C. Geddings and Jason A. Geddings, both of Sumter; two brothers, Billy (Ellen) Geddings of Sumter and Chipper (Sheila) Geddings of Roebuck, S.C.; one sister, Sherry (Larry) Elliott of Sumter; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. G.W. Harrell and the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity United Methodist Church cemetery in Alcolu. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sumter Fire Department. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
