• Notes

  Riley was a highly respected business man, having started his career with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad as a clerk. He worked as a bookkeeper with Rocky Bluff Lumter Co., as a clerk with the Sumter Savings Bank, and in 1914 he established the Commercial Bank and Trust Co. in Sumter, South Carolina. In 1931 he organized and opeded the Bradham Ins. Agency in Sumter, and later the Bradham Realty Co. of which he was the president and which became one of the most prominent real estate firms in the city. [5]
